Ragdoll Cat Colour Types

The tica ragdoll breed standard for the ragdoll cat allows the following colors.
Ragdoll cat colour types. The six point colors are seal blue chocolate lilac red and cream. Ragdolls come in four main patterns. Solid point ragdolls have the same elegant markings as siamese cats but on a fluffy ragdoll physique. Colorpoint ragdolls have the classic pointed markings and no white anywhere in their coat.
Mitted and bicolor both of which have white and colorpoint which has no white. Lilac ragdolls are extremely beautiful as the contrast between their blue eyes and light colored fur is absolutely astonishing. Lilacthis is a very particular type of ragdoll cat as it is gray and cream in color. Ragdoll kittens are born white acquiring their coloring and coat pattern as they age.
And parti colored or tortie. Ragdolls come in six different colors. Red seal chocolate and the corresponding dilutes including blue lilac and cream. A ragdoll has a light colored body with a darker face legs tail and ears.
You can tell seal and blue anywhere from a few days to a week but you cannot determine chocolate and lilac for 3 4 weeks. All ragdolls are pointed but points are partially overlaid with white in the mitted and bicolor. The ragdoll has a bunny soft semi longhair coat which does not require extensive grooming. They have good color at 8 10 weeks and full color and coat at 3 4 years.
They are among the largest of the domesticated cats with some males weighing in at 20 pounds or more. They are similar to both blue and cream ragdolls but the distinguishing factor is light shades of both colors in their fur. Ragdolls with this in colourpoint are very reminiscent of siamese cats. All color is completely evident by 8 12 weeks but ragdoll patterns and colors do not come for about 2 years.
Full color development may not be evident until 2 3 years of age. The points of color are on the ears feet and tail and sometimes a little of the color shows up on the body. These patterns also appear in six major colors seal blue chocolate lilac red and cream while the points can be solid lynx tortie or torbie. The rest of the ragdoll should be ivory cream or soft white.
Ragdoll kittens are born white. This also includes the lynx and tortoiseshell variations in all colors and the three patterns.
